  • We are what we create...

"Do not involve yourself with small things; for small things; bring small results. Instead, shoot for the moon and become a star" - Sky Ecko

What creates value? I mean relatively speaking, everything has value; whether we recognize it or not. But where does value come from? Seriously. What is the common denominator? Do we just wake up one day to find that value exist? No. If so, we would still be in the stone age; most likely starving. Instead throughout time there has been something that has moved us forward. What is it? It breaks down into three steps. First, we create in our mind what it is we desire; very clearly. Second, we take our thoughts (visualizations) and try to recreate them in the "real" world.  Have you guessed the secret? Action. The link between our "virtual" world (mind) and that of the "physical" world. Thirdly, we notice our results by comparing the image we have in our head; to that of the real world. If they don't match, we continue to make adjustments until they do. This is the process of creation; starts with a thought and takes form through action. We can take it a step further and ask where does thought come from; or more likely where is innovation born? Really everything goes back to nature. We observe nature and try to recreate it. Even today with all of our technology we still create things based on aspects of nature; from a car shaped like a dolphin (aerodynamically superior); to studying geckos ability to climb; to chameleons ability to change color. Scientist observe nature; however simple it may appear; it is still highly complex when trying to reverse engineer into our world. Isn't it interesting that we have made it this far just by observing nature? Well of course, once we reached a certain level of technology we observed what we created and asked ourselves how we could improve upon it; and this has demanded a constant cycle of refinements further enhancing our lives. But again, it started with a thought. Can you imagine all the people along the way who told those "It can't be done!" or "You're crazy!" or "Why would you want to do that?" -- Imagine if the true innovators; the ones willing to push forward despite their reputations; money; or otherwise just for the sole purpose of improving humanities life as a whole; were to listen and give up? Where would we be without these brave heroes? So next time someone tells you it can't be done. Ignore them. Understand you are dealing with weak minded people. They are scared petty people who have no dream of their own; and thus prefer to bring you down so they can feel better about themselves. Understand it for what it is. Someone else's problem. Certainly not yours. Tell me, who is the one willing to take action while the other sits idly by? We are the innovators; the leaders. We blaze our own path. We make our own futures. We tread where others won't. We create destiny; while others merely live. We make our luck. We create opportunity where none existed; or at least where none was apparent before. We are the rock stars of innovation. So when  people try to bring you down; smile nicely. You know the truth. You are unaffected. You are on a mission. And when you are successful know that the same people who tried to bring you down; will be the first ones to line up and want to be involved. This tells you they never believed in you in the first place. Surround yourself with people who beleive in you; that support you; all others, get rid of. They bring no value to the equation. Run hard. Live your dream. And never, ever; give up.

  • Can't make a decision? Try these!

Experts reckon modern living affects your ability to make decisions. And they might be right - we can't decide. The point is we're always having to choose between yes, no and maybe. Annoying, yes? Thankfully our good friends in Japan have created Unazukins - impossibly cute little collectable dolls that help you make decisions by responding to your questions with a nod or shake of the head. Simply ask a question ("Am I staggeringly attractive/Is Hedgehunter going to place in the Kentucky Derby?/Does my butt look big in this?") and Unazukins will answer with a yes (one nod), a definite yes (two nods), a no (one head shake), or a definite no (double head shake). Get yours [here]

I think maybe I will use one of these for business. When the person is sitting in front of my desk after a long conversation about a project; I will ask him/her to ask the "Unazukins" whether I should do the project or not. After a much puzzled bewildered look; they reluctantly ask; afterwards I will reply, "Well, what they'd say?" - Hahah! That's how I should do business!
